Canacona is located in the southern part of Goa. It is one of the 5 main talukas in South Goa. Apart from the view of breath taking scenery, Canacona is also well known for being the gateway to some of the most popular beaches in Goa that include the Rajbhag, Agonda and Palolem. This coastal city is marked with the wooded Sahyadri hills along with some beautiful white caves.

Some of the major attractions of Canacona include the Shree Sanusthan Gokarn Parthagali Jeevotham Math located in Parthagali. The Gaud Saraswat community math was built in 1475 by Swami Shreemad Narayanateertha. It is overall a great place for prayer and worship. The Shree Mallikarjun Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and a serene place for all the Hindus. Built in 16th century, the temple is the house of 60 different Gods and Goddesses. The wooden work in the pillars of the temple is an architectural brilliance itself. The Rathasaptami festival or the festival of chariot is the main festival celebrated in the temple during the month of February. The Shigmo festival is celebrated during April. Both these festivals draw a large number of religious travelers.
The Catigo Wildlife sanctuary is another place of interest to the tourists. Wide collection of trees and wildlife is a true delight to nature lovers.
The main beaches of Canacona are the Pololem beach, Cavelossim Beach and the Agonda beach. All the beaches are ideal places to bask under the sand, take a leisurely stroll along the beach watching the sunset or collect shells. The beaches at Canacona also arrange for different boat trips and special cruises.
