Located in North of Goa, Sinquerim Beach is one of the mostly visited beaches in Goa. The Aguada Fort is one of most well known coastal forts in Goa that is located in the Sinquerim Beach. The Aguada Bay is known to be divided in 2 parts, the Caranzalem Bay and the Sinquerim Bay. The Portugese constructed the fort to restrict the entry of any enemy into the River Mandovi and thus kept an eye and protected Goa from the hands of enemies. Currently, the fort at the Sinquerim Beach is the largest central jail of Goa.
